About

Lángeri is a raw, unhurried stretch of golden sand on the northeast coast of Paros, near Naoussa, facing open water with a turquoise sea that shifts colour through the day. At roughly 600 metres long, it's wide enough to feel genuinely empty even in peak summer. Low scrub backs the beach, there's no permanent infrastructure, and the silence is the point. An established naturist tradition gives the place a relaxed, anything-goes atmosphere — but it earns that freedom through its deliberate inaccessibility. Northeast exposure keeps the light sharp and the scenery honest.

How to get there

You reach Lángeri by seasonal boat taxi from Naoussa port — a 20-minute ride that runs in summer — or by navigating a rough dirt track from Naoussa, roughly 15 minutes by car. The dirt road is unpaved and conditions vary; informal, limited free parking sits at the end of the track. There is no road access in the conventional sense, so factor in the terrain before you commit to driving. No entry fee applies.

Who it's for

For couples

Lángeri's quiet atmosphere and the effort required to reach it naturally filter out casual visitors, leaving couples with long stretches of golden sand and turquoise water almost to themselves — pack a picnic and treat the boat ride as part of the experience.

For families

The lack of facilities and the rough access route make Lángeri a poor fit for families with young children — no shade structures, no water on-site, and a naturist zone that may not suit all ages. Families are better served by Santa Maria Beach, 3 km away, which has water sports and beach bars.

Our take

Feet in the sand, eyes on the screen

Lángeri is not for everyone, and that's precisely its value. The rough access, zero facilities, and northeast exposure weed out anyone who isn't genuinely committed to a wild beach day — what's left is golden sand, turquoise water, and real quiet. Check sea conditions before you swim; swell can build on this exposed coast without much notice. The naturist tradition is relaxed and respectful, but it does shape the atmosphere, so know what you're walking into. Come between June and September, bring everything you need, and treat the journey — by boat or by dirt track — as the price of admission. Worth every bit of it.— The wmb team

What to do

Santa Maria Beach, about 3 km away, offers a complete contrast — a double-sided sandy bay with water sports and beach bars if you want a livelier afternoon after a quiet morning at Lángeri. The iconic granite boulder beach at Kolymbithres is worth the 10 km trip north for its wind-sculpted rock formations. Back in Naoussa, the partially submerged Venetian castle ruins at the harbour entrance make for a rewarding late-afternoon walk. Horse-riding at Kokou riding center, 3.8 km away, is a good option for a different kind of exploration.

Instagram spots

The long sweep of golden sand photographed from the water's edge at the northern end gives you 600 metres of unbroken beach with no umbrellas or sunbeds to interrupt the frame.

The low scrub line against the open Aegean sky at the back of the beach is a clean, graphic shot best taken in early morning light when the turquoise water is glassy.

Where to eat

To Dixti, 1.5 km from the beach, is the closest option for a meal after you pack up. Katsounas at 1.6 km is another nearby choice worth considering. For something different, Tao's Center offers Asian cuisine about 2.4 km away, and Le Sud is a solid option at 3 km — all solid reasons to stock up before you head to the beach, since there's nothing on-site.

Where to stay

Cosme, a Luxury Collection Resort, Paros sits 2.2 km away and is the closest upscale base for the beach. Hotel Kalypso and Salt Suites are both around 2.6 km out and offer more mid-range options. Aspasia Maria Hotel and Kallisti round out the choices within 3 km, keeping Naoussa's amenities close at hand.

Photography

Shoot from the waterline in the early morning when northeast light rakes across the golden sand and the turquoise water is at its calmest and most vivid. The low scrub silhouetted against an open sky at the back of the beach makes a strong minimalist frame, especially in the long golden hour before sunset.

Good to know

Naturist use is traditional and long-tolerated here — respect other visitors and the unwritten etiquette that keeps the atmosphere calm. Northeast exposure means swell can build quickly; always check sea conditions before you swim, as waves can arrive with little warning. There are zero facilities on the beach — bring all your water, food, and sun protection from Naoussa before you set off. Boat taxis don't run outside the summer season, and the exposed northeast coast can be rough from October through April, so plan your visit between June and September.

June through September is the window. Avoid October to April — the boat taxi doesn't run, and the northeast-facing coast can be rough and exposed. July and August offer the most reliable conditions and the warmest water.
