The jet ski situation in the canal area is a genuine irritant and a real safety concern, so pick your spot in the water carefully. The dry months from May to October are the sweet spot: comfortable weather, calmer seas, and the beach at its most enjoyable. It won't dazzle you with infrastructure or nightlife, but that's precisely the point. If you want a local beach that still feels like it belongs to the people who live there, Itaipu delivers.
What to do
The Mirante para Itacoatiara, just 0.5 km away, rewards a short walk with sweeping coastal views worth the effort. Casa de Pedra, at 0.8 km, combines a trail with diving opportunities for those who want to explore beyond the sand. Pedra do Choque, also 0.8 km out, adds another natural landmark to a half-day of easy exploration along this stretch of coast.
