Παράδεισος Beach
Mykonos' legendary party beach on golden sand

About
— Paradise Beach — sits on the southern coast of Mykonos, where golden sand meets crystal-clear Aegean water in a wide, sun-drenched arc. The vibe here is unapologetically lively: beach clubs pump DJ sets from mid-morning, and the energy builds through the afternoon into the night. It's one of the most iconic party beaches in the Cyclades, drawing visitors who come specifically for the music, the scene, and the warm, safe swimming. The golden sand stays packed with sunbeds through high season, and the water stays inviting — calm enough for a swim between sets.
How to get there
From Mykonos Town (Fabrika), a bus runs to Paradise Beach roughly every hour in high season — about 15 minutes. Taxis from Mykonos Port take around 10 minutes. Water taxis connect from Platis Gialos, Ornos, and the Old Port, making a scenic approach possible. If you drive, free on-site parking is available directly at the beach.
Who it's for
For couples
Couples who want sun and a social scene will find Paradise Beach delivers both — golden sand, crystal-clear water, and evenings that drift naturally from the beach into the nearby bars and restaurants.
For families
Families with older children or teenagers who enjoy a lively beach will be comfortable here — swimming is safe and parking is free and easy. Younger children or those seeking a quiet beach day would be better served by a calmer nearby alternative.
Our take
Feet in the sand, eyes on the screen
Paradise Beach earns its reputation — this is one of the few places in the Cyclades where a genuinely beautiful golden-sand beach and a full-on party scene occupy the same postcode. Swimming is safe, access is easy, and free parking removes one of Mykonos' usual friction points. But go in clear-eyed: if you want peace and quiet, this is the wrong beach. The DJ sets start early and the sunbeds fill fast. Hit it in June or early September if you want the setting without the full August intensity. For what it is — iconic, lively, unapologetically fun — it delivers.
What to do
The beach itself is the main event, but when you're ready to explore, Little Venice in Mykonos Town is about 4.8km away — one of the most photographed corners of the island. The Moni Panagias Tourlianis monastery is worth the 5.1km drive for a quieter, cultural counterpoint to the beach energy. The Melpo Axioti Statue, 4.7km out, offers a literary landmark for those curious about Mykonian heritage.
The stretch of golden sand shot from the waterline at sunrise gives you the beach almost to yourself — warm light, crystal-clear water, and the Cycladic hills behind.
The beach club terraces later in the day offer a completely different frame: DJ booths, colourful umbrellas, and the energy of one of Greece's most iconic party scenes.
Where to eat
Nicolas Tavern, serving Greek cuisine just 0.7km from the beach, is the closest sit-down option for a proper meal. Scorpios, 0.9km away, is a well-known Mykonos institution with food, drinks, and atmosphere that extends well into the evening. For more variety, Luda's Pikanti Gonia and O'bati are both around 2.8km away.
Where to stay
Amyth of Mykonos Super Paradise sits just 0.9km from the beach — as close as it gets if you want to roll out of bed and onto the sand. Namas Villas at 1.2km and Super Paradise Suites & Rooms at 1.3km are solid alternatives that keep you in the heart of the action.
Photography
The best light hits the golden sand in the early morning before the beach clubs set up — shoot from the water's edge looking back toward the hills for a clean, warm-toned frame. Later in the day, the DJ booth and beach club terraces make for energetic, high-contrast shots that capture the iconic party atmosphere Paradise is known for.
Good to know
Arrive before noon if you want a sunbed without negotiating — by early afternoon the beach is packed and prime spots go fast. Swimming is safe, but stay aware of boat traffic near the water-taxi landing zone. The party scene runs hard in July and August; if you want the beach without the full festival atmosphere, June or early September offer a noticeably calmer experience. Footwear is useful — the path between the parking area and beach clubs can get rough underfoot.
