Friday's Beach
White sand, turquoise calm, and Boracay's quieter side

About
Friday's Beach sits at the northern extension of Boracay's famous White Beach, where the white sand stretches on and the pace drops noticeably. The water runs a clear turquoise, shallow enough to wade and calm enough to swim safely. Willy's Rock — the iconic coral formation topped with a small shrine — anchors the shoreline view, giving the beach an instantly recognisable silhouette. The vibe here is relaxed: fewer vendors, more space between towels, and long golden-hour light that sweeps across the water from the west. It's the kind of stretch that rewards those who walk just a little further than the main strip.
How to get there
Getting to Friday's Beach means flying into either Caticlan Airport (MPH) — the closer option — or Kalibo International Airport (KLO), roughly 60 km away. From Caticlan, a tricycle takes about 5 minutes to the Jetty Port, then a boat crosses to Boracay Island in around 10 minutes; ferries run daily from 5 am to 10:30 pm. Once on the island, hop a tricycle or shuttle to Friday's Beach. There is no parking here — the beach is island-only, reached entirely by water and local transport.
Who it's for
For couples
The low-key atmosphere and west-facing sunset views make Friday's Beach one of Boracay's more romantic stretches — quieter than the main White Beach strip, with enough space to find a private patch of white sand as the light fades.
For families
Safe swimming conditions and a relaxed pace make this a practical choice for families with young children; the calm turquoise water is shallow and forgiving, and Beach Bites — a laptop-friendly café just 0.1 km away — doubles as a handy snack stop.
Our take
Feet in the sand, eyes on the screen
Friday's Beach is essentially White Beach with the volume turned down — same white sand, same turquoise water, meaningfully fewer people. Swimming is safe, the sunset faces you head-on, and Willy's Rock gives the horizon a focal point that most beaches can only dream of. Access is straightforward once you're on Boracay, and the cluster of restaurants and hotels within walking distance means you're never roughing it. Come in the dry season — November through April — and you'll get the best of what this beach promises. It won't blow your mind with dramatic scenery, but it delivers exactly what it advertises: a calm, pretty, unhurried stretch of Boracay coastline that the main strip has largely lost.
What to do
The Boracay Wetland Conservation Park is just 0.8 km away — a worthwhile short walk for anyone curious about the island's mangrove ecosystem. If you want to get underwater, Mad Monkey runs snorkeling trips from a spot 1.2 km along the coast. For a panoramic view over the whole island, Mount Luho View Point sits 1.5 km out and is easily reached by tricycle.
Willy's Rock at sunset is the defining shot — frame it from the waterline with the turquoise shallows in the foreground for maximum impact.
The long uninterrupted sweep of white sand looking south toward White Beach works beautifully in the soft morning light before the daytrippers arrive.
Where to eat
Palms of Boracay, just 0.2 km from the beach, covers regional Filipino flavours and is the closest sit-down option. Back Beach Burgers is a short 0.5 km stroll for something more casual, while Mama's Fish House at 0.7 km is the pick for fresh seafood. The Sunny Side Cafe and True Home Restaurant, both at 0.7 km, round out the nearby options for breakfast or a relaxed meal.
Where to stay
The ONE White Beach sits just 0.1 km from the sand — hard to beat for proximity. Henann Prime Beach Resort and Tawhay are both within 0.3 km and offer different price points on the same stretch. If you want a bit more breathing room, The Strand Boracay (0.4 km) and Sulu Sea Boutique Hotel (0.6 km) are easy walks from the water.
Photography
The best shot on Friday's Beach is Willy's Rock at sunset — position yourself in the shallows with the turquoise water in the foreground and the rock silhouetted against the western sky. Arrive 20–30 minutes before the sun drops for the warmest light on the white sand and the longest shadows.
Good to know
The dry season runs November through April — that's your window for calm seas, reliable sunshine, and the best swimming conditions. May through October brings wetter, windier weather, so plan accordingly. Swimming is rated safe, but stay aware of boat traffic near the jetty approach. Beach vendors and foot traffic pick up as the day progresses, so arrive early to claim your patch of white sand before the daytrippers settle in.
